DESCRIPTION: Tabletop tube AM radio manufactured by Arvin in 1950 is in excellent working condition. Cabinet is original factory painted Bakelite in raw umber color. Unfortunately there is a crack in the cabinet in the upper left back corner that has resulted in missing material. Luckily, the crack and chip are not very visible if viewed from the front. The original factory paint is in excellent condition with no discoloring. The grill on this antique radio was replaced with new cloth that is appropriate in style to the original grill cloth. Knobs are original and securely attached on this vintage radio. This retro radio is one of the better ones for listening purposes. This radio is over 60 years old! No missing ink, smudges, or rub-off on dial lettering. The tuning dial works fine. The power cable is securely attached. All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. The power cord and plug are good original working condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection.
