DESCRIPTION: Tabletop vacuum tube brown Bakelite radio manufactured by Philco in 1938 time frame in excellent physical shape and working condition. 

CABINET CONDITION: Cabinet is original molded brown Bakelite in excellent condition. No cracks, chips or major scratches anywhere on cabinet!. Not repainted, no touch up or over spray. All original facvtory molded colors through and through. Front tuning clear plastic is in very good condition with hairline crack at about 10 o'clock, yellowed with age, slightly shrunken, but not warped, securely attached. Gold metal foil tuning back is in excellent condition with no tarnish, scrapes, oxidation pin pricks or trails, no water stains, flat, not peeling. Replacement grill cloth is brand new, taut, no rips, no runs, securely attached no separation at the edges. No stains or smells.

SOUND QUALITY: Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial. Attached long antenna allows for increased sensitivity and better reception.

KNOBS: All original factory matching knobs. The knobs are matching brown Bakelite securely attached. 

DIAL LIGHT: Working. Replaced with new bulb for long lasting performance

CLOCK: No clock.

LOGOS: None missing. 

INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: All out of spec capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents.

POWER CORD: Brand new replacement polarized power cord and safety polarized plug are in excellent condition with no cracks, or splits.  

BACKING BOARD: No backing board.

FACTORY LABELS: No missing labels. Original interior factory label is intact.

PROVENANCE: Previous owner was an avid collector in Rhode Island. See story here. Has been in our reserve inventories for a long time. Was gently used then stored in a dry cool environment for a long period of time. No evidence of prolonged exposure to cigarette smoking, moisture, cooking grease, pets or carpet.
