Obsidian Black 1953 Silvertone Model 3007 Vacuum Tube AM Clock Radio Excellent Condition! Rare Model!
DESCRIPTION: Tabletop tube AM clock radio alarm manufactured by Silvertone in 1953 time frame in excellent working and physical condition.
SOUND QUALITY: Picks up AM stations clearly around the dial with external antenna attachment.
CABINET CONDITION: Cabinet is in excellent condition witrh no cracks, chips, or major scratches. No heat cracks on top. Original factory molded black Bakelite through and through. Not repainted. No touch no over spray. The front silver pattern backing is original in very good condition. Some stains, no rust, or some discoloration. Clear clock and tuning cover is in excellent condition with no cracks.
KNOBS: The knobs are in excellent condition and securely attached. The tuning dial works fine and smooth no slipping. Factory matching original three clock function knobs are in excellent condition and securely attached.
LOGO: No missing logo.
DIAL LIGHT: No tuning or clock light not designed with one. But can be added for an extra charge.
INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. This is a single stage Intermediate Frequency Transformer circuit with four tubes. So, the receiving quality is going to lag 5 tube two stage designs. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected.
CLOCK: The clock motor is an original Sessions Company movement. The clock motor has a counterweight that is audible like the sound of a rotating motor. It is not derad silent in operation. The alarm works. No buzzer. Wake to radio. The clock and alarm set function work. No sleep timer.
POWER CORD: The brand new replacement power cord and safety polarized plug are excellent original working condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring.
FACTORY LABELS: Bottom factory label is 100% intact and readable.
BACKING BOARD: Original backing board is in very good condition.
PROVENANCE: Previous owner identity is not known. Was gently used then stored in a dry cool environment for a long period of time. No evidence of prolonged exposure to cigarette smoking, moisture, or pets.
