Halcyon Red 1953 Raytheon Truetone Model D-2102 Vacuum Tube Radio Looks and Sounds Great! Excellent Condition!
DESCRIPTION: Vintage 1953 tabletop vacuum tube AM radio manufactured by Raytheon Truetone in excellent plus working and physical condition.
CABINET CONDITION: No cracks, chips, or major scratches. Original factory molded Bakelite. All original factory red paint with small paint dings throughout. Not repainted. No over spray no touch up. None needed. Gold tuning numbers are factory original paint not touched up.
SOUND QUALITY: This radio picks up AM stations very clearly and very loudly around the dial without need of external antenna attachment.
DIAL LIGHT: No tuning or clock dial lights, but one or both can be added for an extra charge. Power on indicator light works. Lights up red.
KNOBS: The ivory knobs are original, matching and securely attached. The tuning pointer is original, factory gold painted and excellent condition.
CLOCK: No clock
INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: The capacitors been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations unless you operate near modern megahertz devices. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications.
POWER CORD: Original power cord is in excellent condition., no breaks or micro-racks, no exposed wiring, supple.
BACKING BOARD: Original factory backing board is in excellent condition with clear readable factory printing.
FACTORY LABELS: Bottom factory labels are missing if ever existed.
PROVENANCE: Previous owner identity is not known. Was gently used then stored in a dry cool environment for a long period of time. No evidence of prolonged exposure to cigarette smoking, moisture, or pets.
