BLUETOOTH: This radio original vacuum tube circuitry is retained, repaired, and modified to play Bluetooth as well as AM radio. The internal circuit is not gutted. Repeat: the internal electronics have not been gutted and replaced with modern electronics. All modifications are reversible. In Bluetooth mode, plays Bluetooth wirelessly from any iPhone, iPad, Android, Huawei, Google phone, etc over 30 ft. Only through Retro Radio Farm, Bluetooth circuitry is completely internal and integrated with the orioginal AM receiver inside the radio! No external plugs, cables, or peripheral devices! Switch from Bluetooth to AM and radio and back to Bluetooth with rocker switch installed on back panel. Pairs within seconds. No batteries to recharge! Sounds great! No noise from Bluetooth circuitry!
DESCRIPTION: Tabletop vacuum tube AM radio manufactured by Silvertone in 1959 time frame. This was a basic model back in its day. Has cool Lexus looking front grill.
SOUND QUALITY: Picks up only strongest AM stations with an external antenna attachment provided. This was not manufactured as a high end receiver so radio reception and sound quality is sub par. Makes a much better Bluetooth player!
CABINET CONDITION: Cabinet is original factory molded gray color plastic. No chips. No major scratches. All original factory molded colors through and through. Not repainted. No touch up no over spray. None needed.
KNOBS: Original volume and tuning knobs are securely attached. Volume knob is original matching in excellent condition. No broken attach posts internally.
LOGO: No missing logos.
DIAL LIGHT: No tuning dial light. Not designed with one. But can be added for an extra charge.
INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. Single stage Intermediate Frequency Transformer (IFT) has been rebuilt to ensure static-free performance. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected.
POWER CORD: The original power cord and plug are in excellent condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring.
BACKING BOARD: Original factory backing board is in excellent condition.
FACTORY LABELS AND STICKERS: Original bottom factory labels. Mostly intact good readable print.
PROVENANCE: Spent most of its life in the southeast. Was part of collection of avid collector, ex-NHL Hall of Famer and former CEO of Nascar.
