BLUETOOTH: This radio original vacuum tube circuitry is retained, repaired, and modified to play Bluetooth as well as AM radio. The internal circuit is not gutted. Repeat: the internal electronics have not been gutted and replaced with modern electronics. All modifications are reversible. In Bluetooth mode, plays Bluetooth wirelessly from any iPhone, iPad, Android, Huawei, Google phone, etc over 30 ft. Only through Retro Radio Farm, Bluetooth circuitry is completely internal and integrated with the original AM receiver inside the radio! No external plugs, cables, or peripheral devices! Switch from Bluetooth to AM and radio and back to Bluetooth with rocker switch installed on back panel. Pairs within seconds. No batteries to recharge! Sounds great! DESCRIPTION: This vintage radio manufactured by Monitor in 1947 in excellent physical and working condition. This is what you would be listening to if you were monitoring "all points bulletins" (APB) by the police stations back in the day. If you lived in rural areas and wanted to be be alerted by the local authorities, or if you were just nosy about police activities, you had one of these!
SOUND QUALITY: Picks up FM broadcasting signals in the 150 to 180 megacycle (MHz) range which is above normal FM stations. Not very useful these days as a receiver, but fully functional and great sounding as a Bluetooth player! Talk about something that nobody else would have! Does not pick up normal broadcast FM stations (88.5 to 108 MHz)
CABINET CONDITION: Factory original Bakelite molded cabinet. No chips or major scratches anywhere on the cabinet. All original factory colors through and through. There is a hairline crack on the front. Not repainted, no over spray, no touch up. Swirly black plastic grill trim and tuning surround is in excellent condition with no crsacks, no warping and securely attached. Tuning back panel is in excellent condition with clear readable graphics no rust no water stains no flaking.
CLOCK: No clock.
KNOBS: Two matching volume on/off and tuning function knobs are in excellent condition. Not sure if they are original. Both are securely attached.
LOGO: No missing logos
DIAL LIGHT: Dial light works and lights brightly.
INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected.
POWER CORD: The brand new replacement power cord and safety polarized plug are in excellent condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring.
BACKING BOARD: Original factory backing board is in excellent condition with one repaired corner.
