DESCRIPTION: This tabletop vacuum tube AM radio was manufactured by RCA Victor in 1961 in excellent physical and working condition.
SOUND QUALITY: Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly around the dial without need of external antenna attachment.
CABINET CONDITION: Cabinet is original factory shiny molded white plastic sides and back with pink front. All original factory molded colors through and through. Not repainted no touched up no over spray. The white top side has a crack across the top that has been repaired and strengthened from below.. No other major cracks, chips or major scratches or missing pieces or melted heat vents in back. It is a classic mid-century modern sleek design that in a highly desirable color combo.
KNOBS: Original volume and large tuning knobs are matching and securely attached. Volume knob gold metal insert is intact. Usually these gold metal inserts are missing. The tuning dial works fine no slipping no sticky spots.
LOGO: No missing logos. The gold paint has been rubbed away in areas, but the "little Nipper" logo is in raised molded, pink plastic, very cute!
DIAL LIGHT: No tuning or clock dial light. Not designed with one but can be added for an extra charge.
CLOCK: None.
INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. Both intermediate frequency transformers (IFTs) have been rebuilt to insure against undesirable static noise in the future. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected.
POWER CORD: Brand new replacement power cord and safety polarized plug are in excellent working condition. No breaks, no splits, no repair with electrical tape, or other. No exposed wiring.
BACKING BOARD: No backing board with this model. Color matching white plastic back cover is in excellent condition with no cracks, co chips, no major scratches.
FACTORY LABELS AND STICKERS: No missing bottom factory labels, areas of the label are missing including Model number.
PROVENANCE: Previous owner identity is not known. Was gently used then stored in a dry cool environment for a long period of time. No evidence of prolonged exposure to cigarette smoking, moisture, or pets. Was probably used in or near kitchen for much of its life.
