Navy Blue 1964 Admiral Model YG790 Vacuum Tube AM Alarm Clock Radio Sounds Terrific! Excellent Condition!
DESCRIPTION: Tabletop vacuum tube AM radio manufactured by Admiral in 1964 time frame in excellent working and physical condition.
SOUND QUALITY: Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly around the dial.
CABINET CONDITION: Cabinet is original factory molded in navy blue plastic. All original factory molded colors through and through. Not repainted, no touch up no over spray. No cracks, chips or major scratches or missing pieces. The front clock and tuning clear cover is clear no cracks, chips or hazing, and securely attached. All front top push buttons are intact none missing and work as designed. Push button chrome painted surround bezel is faded. Clock and front brushed aluminum tuning face is in excellent condition with no rust, oxidation trails or water stains.
KNOBS: Original silver volume and tuning knobs in excellent condition with no cracks, or chips no warping. No broken attach posts. All four original color matching push buttons are in excellent condition with no cracks, securely attached, won't pop off, returns to even normal levels.
LOGO: Admiral original factory painted logo is in excellent condition.
DIAL LIGHT: Has working always on neon gas bulb that never needs replacing. Glows orange and come son when you select alarm setting 'AUTO.' Rare and desirable feature before days of LEDs, to be able to see what time it was in the dark!
CLOCK: Clock works and keeps accurate time. Clock motor has no buzzing no ticking noises. Alarm and clock set function works and goes off at the correct set times. The clock and tuning numbers are not rubbed off. Clear clock cover is securely attached. Clock and radio function lettering is clear and readable.
INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected.
POWER CORD: Original white power cord and plug are in excellent condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring.
BACKING BOARD: Original backing board is intact securely attached. All factory printing is readable.
FACTORY LABELS AND STICKERS: No missing factory labels. Factory label is mostly intact.
PROVENANCE: Previous owner identity is not known. Was gently used then stored in a dry cool environment for a long period of time. No evidence of prolonged exposure to cigarette smoking, moisture, or pets.
