Bubble Gum Pink 1951 Lang Model 123 Tube AM Radio Bubble Gum Pink Excellent Condition Sounds Lang-tastic!
DESCRIPTION: Very few radios make my hairs stand up. This is one of them. If you're looking for a custom color deco MCM style radio, this radio is IT! If pink and near mint condition is important to you, then say-hello-to-my-little-friend. Lang Radio is a very obscure manufacturer from the 50s. Very proportional design. Not too big as to look pudgy. It is just the right size to be cute.
CABINET CONDITION: Urea plastic cabinet is in excellent condition. Small hairline crack below the tuning knob. Front glass clear clock cover is in excellent condition no cracks, chips, or major scratches. Front tuning gold metal plate is in very good condition but tarnished. Printed numbers not faded or rubbed off.
WORKING CONDITION: Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial without need of external antenna attachment.
LOGO: No missing logos. Lang label on front is in excellent condition with slight tarnish.
KNOBS: The original knobs are in excellent condition no cracks no chips. Not sure if these are replacement knobs but they are matching and securely attached. Three clock function knobs are matching and excellent condition.
LETTERING: No missing ink, smudges, or rub-off on tuning dial lettering. The tuning dial works fine and smooth no slipping. Red tuning pointer is in excellent condition.
DIAL LIGHT: No dial light not designed with one. But can be added for an extra charge.
SOUND QUALITY: There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations unless you operate near modern megahertz devices. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications.
CLOCK: Clock works and keeps accurate time. Clock motor is silent. Clock and alarm set functions work. Sleep function works. Alarm works.
INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: All out of tolerance paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection.
BACKING BOARD: Backing board is in good condition with crisp square corners. Small amount of missing material by the cord. Some cracks and water damage where the backing board was removed for service over time.
POWER CORD: The replacement power cord and plug are excellent working condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring.
FACTORY LABEL: No missing factory labels. Internal factory label is in excellent condition.
PROVENANCE: Previous owner identity is not known. Was gently used then stored in a dry cool environment for a long period of time. No evidence of prolonged exposure to cigarette smoking, moisture, or pets. Has been in our reserve inventories for a long time.
