Sable Brown Bakelite 1939 Detrola Model A11 Vacuum Tube AM Radio Relic Excellent Condition Works!
DESCRIPTION: Tabletop vacuum tube radio that was probably manufactured by Detrola (?) in the late thirties time frame in excellent physical and working condition.
CABINET CONDITION: Cabinet is original molded brown Bakelite. Not repainted, not touched up , not over sprayed. The finish is factory original and shiny. No cracks, chips or major scratches or missing pieces. Clear original tuning plastic window is in excellent condition, not cracked, no chips, slightly yellowed with age. Tuning back panel is in excellent condition with no missing numbering, dots or dashes, or anything. No smudges or yellowing.
SOUND QUALITY: Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial with external antenna attachment which is attached.
KNOBS: The tuning and volume dials work fine. All original knobs, dial pointer, etc are present, working, not missing. Securely attached.
DIAL LIGHT: Dial light lights up brightly.
CLOCK: No clock
LOGOS: No manufacturer logos
INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: All out of spec capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection.
POWER CORD: Brand new replacement power cord is in excellent working condition with no cracks, or splits or electrical tape repair.
BACKING BOARD: No backing board.
FACTORY LABELS: NO factory labels. Radio model number is stamped on bottom.
