Vintage 1948 Creamy Beige Crosley Model 9-104W AM Tube Radio Sounds Wonderful Like a Crosley Would!
DESCRIPTION: Leave it to Crosley. Crosley is one of the only companies still around today and still making radios. Tabletop tube AM radio manufactured in 1948 in excellent+ working condition. This bakelite beauty was originally painted at the factory in a beautiful creamy white, which has chipped over time due to normal use not abuse. There is a large repaired crack on the bottom right side. However, otherwise the case is in good condition for a radio of this age. There are no chips. No major scratches. Original factory color on this antique radio does show minor paint loss throughout. I opted not to repaint for originality sake. The tuning knob is original. This antique has retained the original center metal grill that also shows the normal patina of time. Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial without need of external antenna attachment. This radio is over 60 years old! There are no cracks on the top. No missing ink, smudges, or rub-off on dial lettering. The tuning dial works fine. All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. The power cord and plug are good original working condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment.
