DESCRIPTION: Tabletop tube AM clock radio alarm manufactured by Sylvania in 1959 in near mint condition! Super rare model. No images are found online on this radio. This is the first in many years. This clock radio a marvel of mid century marketing, manufacturing and engineering! It looks like the patriarch of Sylvania might have demanded the best clock radio no expense spared. This is the result. You would not see this today in a mass production product with all the cost engineering. Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial without need of external antenna attachment. Cabinet is in mint condition. This back is a rare factory molded in pink. The front could be original yellow or ivory that has evenly yellowed top to bottom due to age. No cracks, no chips, and no major scratches. The original knobs are in excellent condition and all present, none missing. The front clear panel is clear not yellowing with no cracks or chips. The tuning dial works fine and smooth no slipping. All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! Futuristic dial light works and lights brightly. The clock works and keep accurate time for a mechanical analog design. The alarm works. The buzzer works. The clock and alarm set function work. The sleep timer works. The push buttons work as designed and do not pop off. There is a appliance timer function in back. The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations unless you operate near modern megahertz devices. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications.
