Pageant Pink 1957 General Electric Model 913D Vacuum Tube AM Clock Radio Great Sounding Beauty!
DESCRIPTION: A vintage tabletop tube AM clock radio alarm manufactured by General Electric in 1957 time frame in very good working and physical condition. Very popular late fifties step design in a cool pastel pink color that works well with most home decor. This shade of pink is carnation pink. It is pink pink not beige pink. One of the most popular mid century designs! Original factory molded colors. No repaints. No over spray. None needed. Factory glossy and shiny. Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial without need of external antenna attachment. Cabinet is in excellent condition with no cracks, splits, or missing plastic. No cracks on top. This radio is over 60 years old! The knobs are in excellent condition. The black dial face has hairline cracks and inclusions no chips. The tuning bezel is clear and transparent not yellowing. Original knobs show a little wear of over fifty years. Gold metal caps are in excellent condition. The tuning dial works fine and smooth no slipping no sticky spots. All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The clock works and keep accurate time. Clock motor is somewhat quiet has a slight whirring sound The alarm works. The clock and alarm set function work. No snooze button. The tubes are working fine. The dial light works and lights brightly though it does take a few seconds to light up which is normal. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations unless you operate near modern megahertz devices. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. Brand new replacement power cord and safety polarized plug are excellent working condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment. This thing belongs in a museum!
