DESCRIPTION: This is an FM vintage radio from 1955. It is rare to find an early FM only radio from any manufacturer. Manufactured by Granco in excellent+ working and physical condition. All original factory molded black bakelite with white molded plastic front grill. Most FM radios are from sixties with plastic woodgrain and brushed aluminum. This vintage radio find picks up FM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial. Cabinet is in excellent condition with no cracks, splits, or missing bakelite. There are some tiny chips on the top front corners of the cabinet that is hardly noticeable. This radio is over 60 years old! The original knobs are in excellent condition and securely attached. The dial face is in excellent condition with a no ruboff and fading color on dial numbering. Please see the photo close-up. The red tuning dial indicator is original. The tuning dial works fine and smooth no slipping. All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations unless you operate near modern megahertz devices. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. Backing board is in good condition with crisp square corners. The power cord and plug are good original working condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection.
