DESCRIPTION: Perfectly proportioned and uncluttered design from a renown manufacturer of the period. This model came in several exciting colors. This is one of the most appealing and rare. The other colors available were Ivory, Aztec Gold, Emerald, Flame, Spice, Turquoise, Mahogany, and Pink. Tabletop tube AM radio manufactured by Philco in 1959 time frame in excellent+ condition. Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial without need of external antenna attachment. Cabinet is in very good condition. Originally factory molded color. Not painted or touched up or over sprayed. There is a hairline crack from the back to the front along the top raised crease that has been repaired and stabilized. It is not visually obvious because it is hairline thin and exactly along the raised seam. There is a series of small chips along the back top edge in the middle. No other cracks, chips, or major scratches. No discolorations, distorted or melted patches. The metal applique is securely attached with no waves. This radio is over 55 years old! The knobs are in very good condition with no cracks. The metal inserts are slightly almost insignificantly tarnished. The tuning knob works fine and smooth no slipping. The tuning station numbers are clear and not rubbed off. All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations unless you operate near modern megahertz devices. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. The power cord and plug is good original working condition. No exposed wiring or fatigue by the interconnect that is common. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment no pets.
