Vanilla Ivory 1954 Philco Model C587 Vacuum Tube Radio Excellent Condition! Looks and Sounds Great!
DESCRIPTION: Vintage 1954 tabletop vacuum tube AM radio manufactured by Philco in excellent working and physical condition.
CABINET CONDITION: Original factory molded ivory plastic cabinet is in excellent condition with no chips or no major scratches. There is a hairline crack on the front top edge.All original factory molded colors through and through. Not repainted. No over spray no touch up. None needed. Original factory tuning clear plastic window is in excellent condition with no cracks, no chips, no major scratches. Tuning numbers are in excellent condition with no fading, flaking or rub off. Tuning back panel is rare sparkly green color I notice that I think Martin plastic.
SOUND QUALITY: This radio picks up AM stations real clearly and very loudly around the dial without need of external antenna attachment.
DIAL LIGHT: Dial light works and lights up brightly. Replaced with modern LED for long life.
KNOBS: The volume and tuning knobs are original matching ivory color plastic with gold metal inserts tarnished. Tuning knob works with no slipping, sticky, or stuck spots. Pull tuning nob outward to switch to switch to Special Services band. Tuning knobs pulls outward to switch to auxilliary.
INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: The capacitors been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations unless you operate near modern megahertz devices. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications.
POWER CORD: Replacement new power cord and safety polarized plug is in excellent working condition with no breaks, splits, or exposed wirting.
BACKING BOARD: Original backing board is intact in excellent condition.
FACTORY LABELS: Bottom factory labels is intact and readable.
PROVENANCE: Previous owner identity is not known. Was gently used then stored in a dry cool environment for a long period of time. No evidence of prolonged exposure to cigarette smoking, moisture, or pets.
