
Persimmon 1954 Zenith T524V AM Vacuum Tube Clock Radio Works Great and Excellent Plus Condition!
DESCRIPTION: Tabletop tube AM clock radio alarm manufactured by Zenith in 1954 in excellent plius working and physical condition.
SOUND QUALITY: Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly around the dial without need of external antenna attachment. Super loud and clear player!
CABINET CONDITION: Cabinet is original factory molded Bakelite painted red with black grill. Not repainted. No over spray. Not touched up. Original factory paint throughout. Original red color has faded to a red orange color. More red on bottom. Most of these red painted Zenith Bakelites look more orange due to exposure. This particular example has retained more of its red than others. No cracks, chips or major scratches or missing pieces. Couple small paint dings throughout. Beautiful low sleek profile. Cabinet is mirror glossy. Black painted grill is in excellent condition with no cracks, chips, dings, or broken vanes. Clock and tuning clear covers are in excellent condition no cracks no chips no major scratches and securely attached. Tuning and clock dial faces are in excellent condition with no cracks, chips, or major scratches or water stains.
KNOBS: Original matching volume and tuning black knobs securely attached in excellent condition. Red tuning pointer is original securely attached no stuck or sticky spots. All three of the little black clock function buttons are original, matching, and securely attached.
LOGO: Zenith factory black paint filled molded-in logo is in excellent condition. Zenith center crest logo is in excellent untarnished condition.
DIAL LIGHT: No tuning dial light. Not designed with one. But can be added for an extra charge.
INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected.
POWER CORD: The new replacement power cord and saftey polarized plug are in excellent condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring.
BACKING BOARD: The backing board is factory original and in excellent plus condition. Shows very little fatigue rips on the attachment corners. One of the best I've seen. Shows the radio was very well taken care of and stored in a safe dry place for a long time. No missing unmatching factory corner screws.
FACTORY LABELS AND STICKERS: bottom label is in excellent condition.
PROVENANCE: Previous owner identity is not known. Was gently used then stored in a dry cool environment for a long period of time. No evidence of prolonged exposure to cigarette smoking, moisture, or pets.
HEAT SHIELD: a heat shield has been fabricated and mounted internally to reduce heat damage in the future.
