DESCRIPTION: Highly desired and sought after Arvin model in gleaming light powder blue. Tabletop tube AM radio manufactured by Arvin in 1950 time frame in excellent+ working and physical condition.
CABINET CONDITION: Cabinet is original molded Bakelite that has been repainted mirror glossy light powder blue. No Bakelite cracks, chips or major scratches. The repainted, polished and buffed finish is flawless deep mirror shiny. Original tuning ring is intact, no cracks no chips. Lights up brightly with replacement LED! No missing ink, smudges, or rub-off on dial lettering Gold metal grill is in excellent condition no rust no dents or dings.
KNOBS: Matching replacement knobs are intact, securely attached. Tuning and volume on/off knob is in excellent condition with no pitting, rust or chips. Volume works with smooth even attenuation across entire range. The tuning dial works fine. No slipping no sticky spots. Original factory gold metal tuning pointer is in excellent condition securely attached.
SOUND QUALITY: This radio is one of the better ones for listening purposes. Loud and clear reception. Picks up many stations other radios do not.
DIAL LIGHT: Dial lights up brightly and illuminates the tuning ring nicely. One of the more impressive engineered lighting designs from this period. Replaced with modern LED bulb for long life and brightness.
INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment.
CLOCK: No clock
POWER CORD: The original power cord and replacement plug are in excellent condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring.
BACKING BOARD: The original backing board is in excellent condition with crisp square corners. No missing factory labels.
FACTORY LABELS: Original factory bottom label is intact.

PROVENANCE: Previous owner identity is not known. Was gently used then stored in a dry cool environment for a long period of time. No evidence of prolonged exposure to cigarette smoking, moisture, or pets.
