DESCRIPTION: Tabletop tube AM clock radio alarm manufactured by General Electric in 1957 time frame in excellent working and physical condition. Very popular late fifties step design in original factory molded white color.
SOUND QUALITY: Picks up AM stations very clearly and loudly around the dial without need of external antenna attachment.
CABINET CONDITION: Cabinet is original factory molded white color plastic. No cracks, chips or major scratches or missing pieces. Clock black color cover has micro-inclusions around 12 o'clock area. Color matching back cover is in excellent condition with no cracks, chips or major scratches. No melted heat vanes.
KNOBS: Original matching volume and tuning factory knobs are securely attached. Original 3 barrel style factory clock function knobs. No stripped internal post slots. No chipped edges. Gold metal inserts are not tarnished.
LOGO: No missing logos. Front black factory painted raised General Electric logo is in excellent condition no rub off.
DIAL LIGHT: Original clock light works and lights brightly! The tuning dial light follows the movement of the tuning pointer. Nifty!
CLOCK: Clock works and keeps accurate time. Clock motor is silent no humming no buzzing no ticking noises. Alarm and clock set function works and goes off at the correct set times. Buzzer works. Sleep timer works.
INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. Both Intermediate Frequency Transformers (IFTs) have been rebuilt to ensure static-free performance. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected.
POWER CORD: The original grey power cord and plug are in excellent condition with no cracks, or splits. Yellowed.
BACKING BOARD: Color matching back cover is original. No cracks, no chips, no major scratches.
FACTORY LABELS AND STICKERS: No missing bottom factory labels missing. These bottom labels are often totally missing on this model series.
