Alabaster White 1952 Zenith Model J615W AM Vacuum Tube Radio Excellent Condition and Very Loud Clear Sounding!
DESCRIPTION: Tabletop tube AM radio manufactured by Zenith in 1952 in excellent working and physical condition.
SOUND QUALITY: Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial. This vintage radio plays great with or without an external antenna attachment. This radio is nearly 70 years old! Loud and clear sounding!
CABINET CONDITION: Original factory white painted Bakelite cabinet in excellent condition with no cracks, chips, no major scratches. Not repainted, not over sprayed or touched up. Paint dings throughout. Original front gold metal trim is in faded condition but with no waviness or dents, or major scratches not peeling. Not heavily oxidized or rusted. Securely attached. Top cane handle is functional and excellent condition but broken caning in the center. Handle buckles are solid. The handle in excellent functional condition. Little gold metal trim pieces by the knobs are in excellent condition not peeling not warped.
KNOBS: All original factory matching knobs are in excellent condition. Volume on/off switch works. The tuning dial and pointer works, no slipping no sticky spots.
DIAL LIGHT: Red power indicator lights up when radio is turned on.
INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. Thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment.
POWER CORD: The original brown power cord and plug are in excellent working condition with no cracks or splits. No exposed wiring.
FACTORY LABELS: Intact and readable.
PROVENANCE: Previous owner identity is not known. Was gently used then stored in a dry cool environment for a long period of time. No evidence of prolonged exposure to moisture, cooking grease, pets or carpet.
