'The Debonaire' 1954 RCA Victor Model 5C-592 Vacuum Tube AM Clock Radio Excellent Condition!
DESCRIPTION: Here's a clock radio with TV screen alter ego. If you can't get enough of watching TV, then why not buy a clock radio that looks like a TV to get yourself out of bed! Rare and unique design from one of the foremost radio manufacturers of the day. This design is prescient and retro modern like it was designed for the screen addicted when screens of any kind were still new to consumers. This model is presumptuously named "The Debonair" because the stylish well-heeled class can afford a TV in every room even if it's a clock radio. Tabletop tube AM radio manufactured by RCA Victor in 1952 in excellent working and physical condition. Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial. No cracks, chips, or major scratches. This black cabinet is beautiful mirror glossy no scuffs no swirly micro scratches. The gold metal design trim is in shiny condition, securely attached, some gold paint is flaked off in spots. Original factory molded color no repaints no over spray and no touch ups. None needed. Knobs are original and securely attached. This antique plays great without need of external antenna attachment. This radio is over 65 years old! All the dial numbers are crisp and clear. The tuning dial is clear no yellowing no missing center metal cap. The metal clock face is in excellent condition. No missing ink, smudges, or rub-off on dial lettering. The tuning dial works fine. No slipping. You rotate the entire center round clock face to turn the radio ON or Off or Auto (alarm). So neat! All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! No dial light. Not designed with one. Bottom factory label is in excellent 100% intact condition. There is a bypass switch on the back bottom that allows you to switch between phono and radio operation. There are two RCA jacks. One is for regular phono input and the other says "Tape." The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. The replacement power cord and plug is in good original working condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment.
