Tan and Ivory Motorola C18W23 Clock Radio 1963 Vacuum Tube AM Clock Radio Excellent Plus Condition and Sounds Fantastic!
DESCRIPTION: Tabletop vacuum tube AM clock radio alarm manufactured by Motorola in early 1960s in excellent+ working and physical condition. Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial without need of external antenna attachment. Cabinet is in excellent plus condition. There are no chips, cracks, or major scratches. Usually this model has chipped upper right grill corner but not this one! The contrasting tan color grill area is original factory paint with minimal paint dings, no fading, no discoloration. Not repainted, no touch up not over sprayed anywhere! This radio is over 55 years old! No missing Motorola label on lower front speaker grill. The knobs are in excellent condition with almost no chrome paint rub off or thinning. Usually the chrome paint edges are rubbed off.. The clear dial face has no stress cracks or fractures. All the original little clock knobs are still present. The clock bezel is clear and transparent not yellowing. The clock dial face has no oxidation patterns at the bottom. Usually the metal clock face has rust, pitting, or oxidation trails but not this one! No missing ink, smudges, or rub-off on clock dial lettering. The metal tuning fascia plate is shiny and excellent condition. No dial light. Not designed with one but can be added for an extra charge. The tuning dial works fine and smooth no slipping. All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The clock works and keep accurate time. No humming no buzzing no ticking noises. The alarm works. The clock and alarm set function work. The snooze button works. The tubes are working fine. The speaker is original and sounds clear and responsive with no buzzing no warbling no rattling. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations unless you operate near modern megahertz devices. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. Matching color backing board is in good condition with crisp square corners some missing paint. The power cord and plug are good original working condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring. Bottom factory labels are not missing intact and readable. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment.
