DESCRIPTION: Here's a truly rare bird. Tabletop Tube AM radio manufactured by Tele-Tone in late 40s in excellent working condition. Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial without need of external antenna attachment. Cabinet is original molded white ivory plastic with molded blue plastic grill. All original factory molded colors. No repaint no over spray no touch up. None needed. Bottom has a repaired crack. There is a small hairline crack on the inside left edge that does not continue to the left side. Very cool and rare color combination. This radio is about 70 years old! Dial light works and lights brightly. There are no cracks on the top which is a miracle on this flat section of plastic with no support contours. No missing ink, smudges, or rub-off on dial lettering. The "e" in Tele-Tone logo is slightly rubbed off. The tuning dial works fine. Matching ivory white tuning dial and volume knob. Sweet! Replacement power cable is securely attached no breaks, splits, or exposed wiring. All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The backing board is in excellent shape with crisp corners. The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment no pets.
