Regal Turquoise Frost Blue 1959 Zenith Model B511 "The Trumpeteer" AM Vacuum Tube Radio Sounds Great! Cool Colors!
DESCRIPTION: Tabletop vacuum tube AM radio manufactured by Zenith in 1959 time frame in excellent working and physical condition. Called "The Trumpeteer" model by Zenith marketing geniuses.
SOUND QUALITY: Picks up AM stations very clearly and very loudly around the dial without need of external antenna attachment.
CABINET CONDITION: Cabinet is original factory molded turquoise plastic back called "Regal Turquoise". Front factory molded plastic is light blue called "Frost Blue." All original factory molded colors through and through. Not repainted. No touch up. No over spray. No heat or hairline cracks on top. There no chips, or major scratches or missing pieces on the turquoise back. The front "Frost Blue" section has a small chip on the front patterned grill face. The tuning front aluminum fascia is in very good condition with no rust, no oxidation or discoloration, but some gold paint rub off on raised edges.
KNOBS: Factory original matching clear golden plastic tuning and and volume knobs. The tuning numbers are clear and readable with gold paint rub off. Tuning knob is missing gold metal cap. Volume on/off knob gold metal insert is intact.
LOGO: No missing Zenith crest logo.
DIAL LIGHT: None. Not designed with one.
CLOCK: No clock
INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. Both Intermediate Frequency Transformer (IFTs) have been rebuilt to ensure static free performance. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected.
POWER CORD: The original power cord and plug are in excellent condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring.
BACKING BOARD: Not backing board. Not designed with one. Turquoise back cover is in excellent condition with no crscks, chips, or major scratches. No melted heat vents.
FACTORY LABELS AND STICKERS: Bottom labels are missing.
PROVENANCE: Previous owner identity is not known. Was gently used then stored in a dry cool environment for a long period of time. No evidence of prolonged exposure to cigarette smoking, moisture, or pets.
