Toreador Red 1955 Truetone Model D2553-A AM Vacuum Tube Radio Rare and Beautiful!
DESCRIPTION: Beautiful antique radio model from Truetone. Extremely rare. This vintage radio was made by the venerable Western Auto Supply Company of Kansas City, MO. Gorgeous factory painted red Bakelite tabletop tube AM radio manufactured in 1955 in excellent working condition. The cabinet is in excellent condition with no cracks and no chips! Beautifully proportioned design. Cabinet is original factory painted color. Some paint dings on the top of the cabinet. No exterior repairs or repaints. No overspray no touch up. None needed. All knobs are original and securely attached. This radio is over 60 years old! No dial light not designed with one but can be added for an extra charge. No missing ink, smudges, or rub-off on clock face or insignia. The gold grill facade is in excellent condition. The tuning dial works fine. All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. The original power cord and plug are good original working condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment.
