DESCRIPTION: Tabletop tube AM clock radio alarm manufactured by General Electric in 1959 time frame in excellent working and physical condition. Very popular late fifties step design in original factory molded pink color.
SOUND QUALITY: Picks up AM stations very clearly and loudly around the dial without need of external antenna attachment.
CABINET CONDITION: Cabinet is original factory molded pink plastic. No chips or major scratches or missing pieces. Clock black color cover has hairline crack, no chips or micro-inclusions. Clock function lettering has worn off. There is a scratch on the right side of the clock display panel. Color matching back cover is in very good condition with no cracks or major scratches. No melted heat vanes. Slightly yellowed with age. Small chips and cracks by the bottom edge screw mounts. There is some old glue residue on the bottom front edge and bottom vents.
KNOBS: Two new white matching replacement clock function knobs are securely attached. No stripped internal post slots. No chipped edges. Volume and tuning gold metal inserts are in very good condition slightly tarnished.
LOGO: No missing logos. Front black factory painted raised General Electric logo is worn off.
DIAL LIGHT: Original dial light works and lights brightly! Replacement LED bulb will not need to be replaced for years! The tuning dial light follows the movement of the tuning pointer. Nifty!
CLOCK: Clock works and keeps accurate time. Clock motor is silent no humming no buzzing no ticking noises. Alarm and clock set function works and goes off at the correct set times. Buzzer works. Sleep timer works. No snooze button.
INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. Both Intermediate Frequency Transformers (IFTs) have been rebuilt to ensure static-free performance. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected.
POWER CORD: The original gray power cord and plug are in excellent condition with no cracks, or splits.
BACKING BOARD: Color matching pink back cover is original. No cracks, no chips, no major scratches.
FACTORY LABELS AND STICKERS: Missing 1 bottom label. The other bottom factory label is in fair condition, readable, but water stained. These labels are often missing on this model series.
PROVENANCE: Grandma was a smoker. Spent many years on her night stand located on the right side of her bed.
