Artisan Handcrafted Original Vintage Wood 1937 Philco Model 37-12 AM Vacuum Tube AM Radio Sounds Wonderfull! Excellent Condition!
DESCRIPTION: Tabletop vacuum tube radio manufactured by Philco in 1937. Solid physical shape and excellent working condition.
CABINET CONDITION: Cabinet is original artisan handcrafted wood cabinet. No cracks or peeling veneer. Just two small veneer chips on front. No other cracks, chips, splits, abrasions, or major cracks. Front tuning glass is in excellent condition, no cracks, and securely attached. Gold metal tuning window surround trim is in excellent condition with no dents or dings and securely attached. Tuning back panel is in excellent condition with no tarnish, scrapes, oxidation pin pricks or trails, no water stains, flat, not peeling. Replacement grill cloth is brand new, taut, no rips, no runs, securely attached no separation at the edges.
SOUND QUALITY: Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial. Attached long antenna allows for increased sensitivity and better reception.
KNOBS: All original factory matching knobs. The knobs are matching brown Bakelite securely attached.
DIAL LIGHT: Working. Replaced with new bulb for long lasting performance
CLOCK: No clock.
LOGOS: None missing.
INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: All out of spec capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents.
POWER CORD: Brand new replacement polarized power cord and safety polarized plug are in excellent condition with no cracks, or splits.
BACKING BOARD: No backing board.
FACTORY LABELS: No missing labels.
PROVENANCE: Previous owner was an avid collector in Rhode Island. See story here. Has been in our reserve inventories for a long time. Was gently used then stored in a dry cool environment for a long period of time. No evidence of prolonged exposure to cigarette smoking, moisture, cooking grease, pets or carpet.
