DESCRIPTION: Tabletop tube AM radio manufactured by Arvin in 1950 time frame in excellent working and physical condition.
CABINET CONDITION: Cabinet is factory molded black Bakelite subtle marble swirl. No cracks, chips or major scratches. Original tuning brass color metal pointer is shiny and securely attached. Speaker metal mesh grill is in excellent condition with no rust, dents, dings, or oxidation.
KNOBS: Matching original knobs are intact, securely attached. Tuning knob is in excellent condition. Volume works with smooth even attenuation across entire range. The tuning dial works fine. No slipping no sticky spots.
SOUND QUALITY: This radio is one of the better ones for listening purposes. Loud and clear reception.
DIAL LIGHT: Original tuning ring is intact, no cracks no chips. Lights up brightly with replacement LED!
INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection.
POWER CORD: The new replacement power cord and safety polarized plug are brand new condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring.
BACKING BOARD: The original backing board is in excellent condition with crisp square corners.
FACTORY LABELS: No missing factory labels. Bottom factory label is intact and readable.
PROVENANCE: Previous owner identity is not known. Was gently used then stored in a dry cool environment for a long period of time. No evidence of prolonged exposure to cigarette smoking, moisture, or pets.
