DESCRIPTION: AM Tabletop tube clock radio manufactured by Jewel in the 1949-50 time frame still in excellent+ working condition. This radio has a very golden age of radio look. No cracks, splits, abrasions, or missing material anywhere on the cabinet! No repairs or repaints of any kind. All knobs, dial pointer, etc are present, working, not missing. The little clock knobs are not original. Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial without external antenna attachment. Excellent art deco design! Original brown marble swirly bakelite cabinet is flawless mirror-like glossy condition. The volume and tuning knobs are original matching ivory bakelite securely attached. Clock works and keeps accurate time. Clock is quiet. Alarm works, Alarm set works. Clock set works. Sleep function works. This radio is over 60 years old! All the dial numbering and lettering is crisp and clear. Look at the neat Art Deco-ish type font! No missing numbering, dots or dashes, or anything. No smudges or yellowing. The back panel is half missing. The tuning and volume dials work fine. The unit powers on and off with a definite click. All out of spec capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. The original power cord and plug is in good working condition with no cracks, or splits or electrical tape repair. The backing board is half missing. No exposed wiring. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment no pets. When this radio was new, Harry S Truman was president! This thing belongs in a museum!
