DESCRIPTION: Rare table clock and radio in a rare factory color. Solidly built from a manufacturer that demonstrates pride in quality and superior craftsmanship. Tabletop tube AM clock radio alarm manufactured by Sylvania in 1953 in excellent condition! Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial without need of external antenna attachment. Bakelite cabinet is in excellent condition refinished in matching original factory red paint. This was an original red clock radio. No cracks, no chips, and no major scratches. The gold metal original knobs are in excellent condition and all present, none missing. The front glass clock cover is original no cracks or chips no flaking or missing numbers. The tuning dial works fine and smooth no slipping no sticky spots. Front metal trim piece is a hefty cast piece. The plating has oxidized and tarnished but not pitted or rusted and securely attached. All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! Futuristic "Panelescent" light works and glows faintly.  Glow dimmer in back works. Original glow dimmer knob is securely attached. The clock works and keep accurate time for a mechanical analog design.  Clock motor is silent no humming no buzzing no ticking noises, The alarm works. The buzzer works. The clock and alarm set function work. The tubes are working fine. Original speaker is working fine, loud, clear, responsive, with no buzzing. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations unless you operate near modern megahertz devices. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. The original power cord and plug is in excellent original working condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring. The bottom factory labels are intact. Backing board is original securely mounted with factory original printing that is still readable. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment.
