DESCRIPTION: Tabletop tube AM radio manufactured by Zenith in 1954 in excellent working and physical condition. Original large elliptical speaker 6" x 9" sounds better than most radios from the era. There's no replacement for displacement when it comes to sound!

SOUND QUALITY: Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial. This vintage radio plays great with or without an external antenna attachment. This radio is nearly 70 years old! Loud and clear sounding like Eddie Van Halen playing Eruption!

CABINET CONDITION: Original factory molded dark red plastic cabinet in very good condition with no chips, no major scratches. There is a thin hairline crack on top from back edge does not continue the full width of the top. Not repainted, not over sprayed or touched up. Original front gold metal trim is in fair condition with no dents, or major scratches. Gold finish is flaked and lost in some areas. Not heavily oxidized or rusted. Securely attached. Brown plastic top handle is functional and excellent condition. Handle buckles are rusted but solid. The handle in excellent functional condition. Minor white "flea bite" dings along the front and top edges are visible.

KNOBS: All original factory matching brown plastic knobs are in excellent condition. Volume on/off switch works. The tuning dial and pointer works not slipping no sticky spots.

DIAL LIGHT: No dial light.

INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. Thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment. 

POWER CORD: The original power cord and safety polarized plug is in excellent working condition with no cracks, or split. No exposed wiring.

FACTORY LABELS: Bottom factory label is mostly there and readable where exists.

PROVENANCE: Previous owner identity is not known. Was gently used then stored in a dry cool environment for a long period of time. Comes from our inventory reserves. No evidence of prolonged exposure to moisture, cooking grease, pets or carpet.
