Citron Yellow Mid Century 1954 Firestone Model 4-A-127 Vacuum Tube AM Radio Cool Model Rare Color!
DESCRIPTION: Tabletop tube AM vintage radio manufactured by Firestone in 1954 in excellent working and physical condition. Very rare model in a very rare color. True yellow factory molded colors are one of the rarest for clock radios of this period. Usually, yellow is a yellowed ivory or yellow-ish beiuge. This is a true bright yellow molded color.
CABINET CONDITION: Original factory molded color not painted. No touch up no over spray. Cabinet is in excellent condition. This radio is over 65 years old! The front facade is in excellent condition with no cracks, chips, or major scratches. The clock and tuning face clear bezels are not cracked or chipped, No missing ink, smudges, or rub-off on tuning dial lettering on the clock or radio tuning bezel. The gold painted clock and tuning internal square surround is thin and missing in areas. The clear bezels are securely attached with no major cracks or scratches or inclusions. The clear cover bezel attachment tabs are not cracked off which is common on this model. The tuning indicator translucent green is in excellent condition.
SOUND QUALITY: Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial without need of external antenna attachment.
KNOBS: The original factory matching knobs are in excellent condition. Center gold metal caps are not missing but tarnished. The little clear clock knobs are all original and matching and securely attached. Usually some or all of these are missing or not matching. The tuning dial works no slipping no sticky spots.
LOGO: The Firestone decal is in excellent condition not rubbed off.
INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! Both Intermediate Frequency Transformers (IFTs) have been rebuilt to ensure static free performancer in ther future. The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations unless you operate near modern megahertz devices. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. This vintage radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection.
BACKING BOARD: The original backing board is in excellent condition not missing.
CLOCK: Clock works and keeps accurate time. Clock motor is silent no humming no buzzing no ticking noises. Alarm set function works. Alarm works. Clock set works. Sleep timer works.
POWER CORD: The original power cord and plug are excellent working conditiuon no breaks, no exposed wires.
COLOR: Yellow. Not yellowed ivory not beige yellow. Yellow yellow
