DESCRIPTION: Portable vacuum tube AM radio manufactured by Emerson in 1954 in excellent working and physical condition. Includes original untested Eveready batteries. 

SOUND QUALITY: Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly around the dial. This vintage portable radio plays great without needing an external antenna attachment. This radio is nearly 70 years old! Loud and clear sounding!

CABINET CONDITION: Original factory plastic cabinet molded in burgundy maroon plastic in very good condition with no major scratches. Has repaired hairline crack and chip on top. Not repainted, not over sprayed or touched up. Original leather strap handle is in functional condition but ratty. Hinges are in excellent functional condition. Back cover stays shut and does not pop open by itself if you are careful to tuck the power cord within.

KNOBS: All original factory matching knobs are in excellent condition. Volume on/off switch works. The tuning dial and pointer works, no slipping no sticky spots.

DIAL LIGHT: No dial light. Not designed with one.

BATTERIES: Has original power cord to operate on standard household AC voltage. Has two vintage period Eveready batteries which are rare to find. Not tested. But, assume no voltage. 

AC POWER SUPPLY: Included. Powers off standard US household outlet 120VAC 117Hz.

INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. Thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment.

PROVENANCE: Previous owner identity is not known. Was gently used then stored in a dry cool environment for a long period of time. No evidence of prolonged exposure to moisture, cooking grease, pets or carpet.
