DESCRIPTION: Beautiful antique radio model from Truetone. Extremely rare. This vintage radio was made by the venerable Western Auto Supply Company of Kansas City, MO. Gorgeous brown swirly tabletop tube AM radio manufactured in 1954 in excellent working condition. External antenna enables this radio to receive stations more clearly. It's a 4 tube set so reception will not be as strong as traditional 5 tube sets. No cracks, chips, or major scratches. The cabinet is in excellent condition and very pretty to look at! Beautifully proportioned design. Cabinet is original factory molded color. No exterior repairs or repaints. None needed. All knobs are original and securely attached. This radio is over 60 years old! No missing ink, smudges, or rub-off on clock face or insignia. The gold clock facade is in excellent condition. Please review photos carefully before purchase. Clock alarm works and clock keeps time, with no excessive humming. The tuning dial works fine. All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. The original power cord and plug are good original working condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment no pets.
