Gloss Black Tartan Plaid 1954 Capehart Model T-54 Vacuum Tube AM Radio Sounds Great! Excellent Condition!
DESCRIPTION: This vintage radio manufactured by Capehart in 1954 in excellent working and physical condition. Rare and beautiful. I'm becoming a bigger and bigger fan of thiese mid century Capeharts for their quality design and serviceability with not so overboard but still unique looks.
SOUND QUALITY: Picks up AM stations around the dial without need of external antenna attachment.
CABINET CONDITION: Cabinet is original factory molded black plastic. All original factory molded colors through and through. Not repainted no over spray not touched up. Not needed. No cracks, chips, or major scratches. Usually this model is found with cracks and chips, but not this one! Front tuning gold metal pointer is factory original securely attached and polished. Metal grill is printed with a plaid design in near mint condition with no rust dents, or dings!
KNOBS: Factory original matching knobs are in excellent condition though they are no missing gold metal center inserts. No broken attach posts.
LOGO: Front factory Capehart logo is mostly chipped off.
DIAL LIGHT: No dial light. Not designed with one but can be added for an extra charge.
CLOCK: No clock
INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. Both Intermediate Frequency Transformers (IFTs) have been rebuilt to ensure static-free performance. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected.
POWER CORD: The original power cord and plug are in excellent condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring.
BACKING BOARD: Original factory molded fiber cardboard backing board is in excellent condition.
FACTORY LABELS AND STICKERS: Factory label is in excellent condition with no missing material. Readable.
