DESCRIPTION: Tabletop vacuum tube radio manufactured by Crosley in the 1951 time frame. Rare color from factory. Crosley quality is nearly unsurpassed among radios made during this period. The engineering, finish, design, and quality construction makes these radios highly desired among collectors.
CABINET CONDITION: Cabinet is original factory molded Bakelite cabinet painted at the factory in medium ice blue metallic color. Not refinished no touch no over spray. No cracks. No chips or major scratches. Small paint dings throughout due to age and normal wear and tear not abuse. Gold metal trim rings are in excellent condition with no rust no greening or oxidation slightly tarnished.
SOUND QUALITY: Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial.
KNOBS: All original factory matching knobs; volume, tuning, no attach post cracks, and securely attached. Some tarnish on gold metal surfaces. Tuning point is intact with no cracks or repairs and securely attached.
DIAL LIGHT: No dial or clock light. Not designed with one. But can be added for an extra charge.
CLOCK: Clock works and keeps accurate time. Clock motor is silent. Clock and alarm set functions work. Sleep function works. Wake to radio alarm or alarm buzzer.
LOGOS: No missing logos.
APPLIANCE PLUG: Left side appliance power plug works and turns device on when alarm is set.
INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: All out of spec capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec dog bone resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection.
POWER CORD: Brand new replacement power cord and safety polarized plug are in excellent condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring.
BACKING BOARD: Factory original backing board is in excellent condition with no cracks no rips and securely attached.
FACTORY LABELS: Bottom factory label is in fair condition with missing parts.
PROVENANCE: Was gently used, lovingly displayed, or stored in a dry cool environment for a long period of time. No evidence of prolonged exposure to moisture, smoking, cooking grease, pets or thick carpet. Was acquired recently from a long time avid collector from Seattle.
