Sumatra Brown 1953 Zenith Model K622 Vacuum Tube Radio Looks and Sounds Great! Excellent Condition!
DESCRIPTION: Vintage 1953 tabletop vacuum tube AM radio manufactured by Zenith in excellent working and physical condition.
CABINET CONDITION: No cracks, chips, or major scratches. Original factory molded Bakelite. Not repainted. No over spray no touch up. None needed. All original factory metal film trim pieces by the knobs are in excellent condition no rub off or peeling. Excellent condition Bakelite back rare as it is usually with a backing board.
SOUND QUALITY: This radio picks up AM stations very clearly and very loudly around the dial without need of external antenna attachment.
DIAL LIGHT: No dial light, but one can be added for an extra charge. Power on indicator light works.
KNOBS: The clock function knobs of this vintage tube radio are replacement non-matching and securely attached. Volume and tuning knobs are original, matching, excellent condition. Tone knob in back is original and works great.
CLOCK: The clock works quietly and keeps accurate time. The alarm works. The buzzer works. The clock and alarm set function work. Clock motor is silent no humming no buzzing no ticking noises. Alarm and clock set function works and goes off at the correct set times. Buzzer alarm works. Wake to radio or radio with buzzer. Sleep timer works. Front clock face brown painted back panel is clean no dents or dings, not warped, no water stains no rust.
INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: The capacitors been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! Intermediate Frequency Transformers (IFTs) have been rebuilt or replaced to ensure static free performance. The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations unless you operate near modern megahertz devices. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications.
POWER CORD: Brand new replacement power cord and polarized plug is in excellent condition no exposed wiring.
BACKING BOARD: None, has factory molded brown Bakelite back, excellent!
FACTORY LABELS: Bottom factory labels is mostly missing.
PROVENANCE: Previous owner identity is not known. Was gently used then stored in a dry cool environment for a long period of time. No evidence of prolonged exposure to cigarette smoking, moisture, or pets.
