Sienna Brown Bakelite 1941 Truetone Model D-1012 Vacuum Tube AM Radio Sounds Great Excellent Condition!
DESCRIPTION: Tabletop vacuum tube AM vacuum tube radio alarm manufactured by Truetone in 1941 in excellent working condition.
SOUND QUALITY: Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly around the dial without need of external antenna attachment.
CABINET CONDITION: Cabinet is original factory brown marbled Bakelite cabinet. No cracks, chips or major scratches or missing pieces. Not repainted, no touch up not over sprayed. All orgiina;l factory molded colors through and through. Clear plastic tuning window is in excellent condition, no cracks, no flaking numbers, and securely attached. The preset tuning push buttons work as designed and can be reset to new preset stations
KNOBS: Original matching factory brown Bakelite tuning knob securely attached no broken attach posts. Tuning dial works fine no slipping no sticky spots. Brown plastic volume on/off switch is original and securely attached. Factory preset buttons all matching and original and securely fastened.
LOGO: No missing logos.
DIAL LIGHT: Dial light works and lights brightly.
INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected.
POWER CORD: The replacement power cord and plug are in excellent condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring.
BACKING BOARD: Replacement backing board securely mounted to the back of the cabinet. Usually these backing boards go missing over the years.
PROVENANCE: Spent most of its life in rural midwest. Was part of collection of avid collector. See gallery article here.
