DESCRIPTION: Tabletop vacuum tube AM radio manufactured by Motorola in the 1959 time frame in excellent physical and working condition.
SOUND QUALITY: This radio picks up AM stations real clearly and very loudly around the dial without need of external antenna attachment.
CABINET CONDITION: Cabinet is original factory painted magenta red Bakelite. No repaints no touch-ups no over sprays. No cracks, chips, or major scratches or missing pieces. The glossy original factory Bakelite has light scratches on the top.
KNOBS: Factory original gold volume and tuning knobs are matching and securely attached. No cracked posts. Tuning dial stations gold numbers not rubbed off.
LOGO: No missing logos. Motorola logo is filled in with factory original gold paint.
DIAL LIGHT: No tuning dial light. Not designed with one, but can be added for an extra charge.
CLOCK: no clock
INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. Both Intermediate Frequency Transformers (IFTs) have been rebuilt to ensure static-free performance. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected.
POWER CORD: The replacement power cord and plug are in excellent working condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring.
BACKING BOARD: Backing board is in excellent condition with readable factory printing.
FACTORY LABELS AND STICKERS: No missing factory labels.
PROVENANCE: Was gently used then stored in a dry cool environment for a long period of time. No evidence of prolonged exposure to moisture, smoking, cooking grease, pets or carpet.
