Gull Gray 1953 Zenith Model K622 Vacuum Tube Radio Alarm Clock Looks and Sounds Great! Excellent Condition!
DESCRIPTION: Vintage 1953 tabletop vacuum tube AM radio manufactured by Zenith in excellent working and physical condition. High end model.
CABINET CONDITION: No cracks, chips, or major scratches. Original factory molded Bakelite. All original factory paint with small paint dings throughout. Not repainted. No over spray no touch up. None needed. All original factory metal film trim pieces surrounding clock and tuning windows in excellent condition no rub off or peeling. Excellent condition Bakelite color matching back is rare. Usually comes with a fiber backing board. Repaired hairline crack on bottom left corner. Clock and tuning clear covers are in excellent condition with no cracks no warping no scratches.
SOUND QUALITY: This radio picks up AM stations very clearly and very loudly around the dial without need of external antenna attachment.
DIAL LIGHT: No tuning or clock dial lights, but one or both can be added for an extra charge. Power on indicator light works.
KNOBS: The clock function knobs of this vintage tube radio are matching and securely attached. Volume and tuning knobs are original, matching, excellent condition. Tone knob in back is original and works great.
CLOCK: The clock works quietly and keeps accurate time. The alarm works. The buzzer works. The clock and alarm set function work. Clock motor is silent no humming no buzzing no ticking noises. Alarm and clock set function works and goes off at the correct set times. Buzzer alarm works. Wake to radio or radio with buzzer. Sleep timer works. Front clock face gray painted back panel is clean no dents or dings, not warped, no water stains no rust.
INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: The capacitors been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! Intermediate Frequency Transformers (IFTs) have been rebuilt or replaced to ensure static free performance. The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations unless you operate near modern megahertz devices. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications.
POWER CORD: Original power cord is in excellent condition., no breaks or micro-racks, no exposed wiring, supple.
BACKING BOARD: None, has factory molded gray factory painted Bakelite back, excellent!
FACTORY LABELS: Bottom factory labels is intact.
PROVENANCE: Previous owner identity is not known. Was gently used then stored in a dry cool environment for a long period of time. No evidence of prolonged exposure to cigarette smoking, moisture, or pets.
