DESCRIPTION: Highly desired and sought after Arvin model in red. Tabletop tube AM radio manufactured by Arvin in 1950 time frame in excellent+ working and physical condition. Cabinet is original factory red painted Bakelite that has been repainted mirror glossy red. No cracks, chips or major scratches. The repainted, polished and buffed finish is flawless deep mirror shiny red. Original factory red radio not ivory or brown that was repainted red. Matching original knobs are intact, securely attached. Tuning knob is in excellent condition with no pitting, rust or chips. Volume ON/OFF knob was cracked and re-glued solid. Volume works with smooth even attenuation across entire range. This radio is one of the better ones for listening purposes. Loud and clear reception. Picks up many stations other radios have not. Original tuning ring is intact, no cracks no chips. Lights up brightly with replacement LED! No missing ink, smudges, or rub-off on dial lettering. The tuning dial works fine. No slipping no sticky spots. All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. The replacement power cord and plug are brand new condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring. The original backing board is in excellent condition with crisp square corners. No missing factory labels. Bottom factory label is painted over. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment.
