Cinnamon Red Vintage Deco Retro 1948 Philco Transitone 48-200 AM Bakelite Vacuum Tube Radio Sounds Great! Beauty to Behold!
DESCRIPTION: Tabletop AM vacuum tube radio manufactured by Philco in 1948 in excellent physical and working condition.
CABINET CONDITION: Original factory molded Bakelite cabinet is in excellent condition, repainted red. Repaired hairline crack on lower left side. Repainted in mirror glossy red paint is mirror glossy. Front clear tuning window has been replaced with brand new acrylic.
WORKING CONDITION: Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly around the dial without need of external antenna attachment.
LOGO: No missing logos.
KNOBS: The factory original white Bakelite matching knobs are in excellent condition no cracks no chips.
LETTERING: No missing ink, smudges, or rub-off on tuning dial lettering. The tuning dial works fine and smooth no slipping no sticky or stuck spots.
DIAL LIGHT: Dial light works. Lights up brightly.
CLOCK: No clock
INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: All out of tolerance paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection.
BACKING BOARD: No backing board.
POWER CORD: The brand new replacement power cord and safety polarized plug are in excellent working condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring.
FACTORY LABEL: Factory label is clear and readable but lightly overssprayed by red paint along the edges.
