Maroon 1952 CBS Model 517A AM Vacuum Tube Radio Rare Model Rare Color Pristine Condition!

This antique radio was manufactured and marketed by CBS in 1952 to 1953 time frame. Vintage tabletop vacuum tube AM radio in excellent working and pristine physical condition! Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly around the dial without need of external antenna attachment. The cabinet is original factory maroon painted Bakelite. Not repainted, no touch up an no over spray. Absolutely stunning condition! No cracks, chips or major scratches. This radio is almost 70 years old! No dial light. Not designed with one. Probably no reason to add a dial light. There are no smudges or rub-off on dial lettering. CBS Columbia logo applique is in excellent condition with no chipped letters no rub off paint. The tuning dial works fine. The brand new replacement power cable and safety power plug is securely attached and in excellent condition with no breaks, no cracks, no brittleness. No exposed wiring. All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. Original backing board is in excellent condition with no breaks securely attached. Original factory labels are intact and read-able. The vintage radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment.
