DESCRIPTION: Tabletop vacuum tube AM clock radio alarm manufactured by Emerson in 1962 in excellent working and physical condition.
SOUND QUALITY: Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly around the dial without need of external antenna attachment. Working tone knob with good tonal modulation between high and low.
CABINET CONDITION: Cabinet is original factory molded turquoise color plastic in excellent condition. There is a heat crack on the left side. No other cracks. No chips or major scratches anywhere. Not repainted. No touch up. No over spray. Original factory pinhole grill is in excellent condition with no dents or dings. No rust or oxidation. Clock face aluminum is slightly oxidized in areas. Clock numbering is not faded, flaking or rubbed off.
KNOBS: Original matching knobs are securely attached. All 3 knobs center metal cap inserts are not missing which is common. Little clock knobs are original and securely attached.
LOGO: No missing logo. Raised Emerson gold paint is mostly rubbed off but some of it is still there.
DIAL LIGHT: No dial light. Not designed with one.
CLOCK: Clock works and keeps accurate time. Clock motor is silent no humming no buzzing no ticking noises. Alarm and clock set function works and goes off at the correct set times. Alarm buzzer works. Wake to radio or radio and buzzer. Sleep timer works. No snooze button not designed with one.
INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected.
POWER CORD: The original power cord and plug is in excellent condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring.
BACKING BOARD: No backing board. Back color matching plastic cover is intact and securely attached.
FACTORY LABELS AND STICKERS: No missing bottom labels.
