Coral Red 1959 Westinghouse H-678T4 AM Vacuum Tube Clock Radio Works Great! Sweet Looking Little Clock!
DESCRIPTION: Tabletop tube AM clock alarm radio manufactured by Westinghouse in 1957 in excellent physical and working condition.
SOUND QUALITY: Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly around the dial without need of external antenna attachment.
CABINET CONDITION: Cabinet is original factory shiny molded coral red color plastic. No major scratches or missing pieces. There is a thin short hairline crack beginning on the back top edge. There is a small chip on the top left corner. No other chips on the corners and edges. Original factory molded red orang-ish color. No repaints no touch-ups no over sprays. The front clock bezel is clear transparent with no cracks, chips or hazing. White patterned clock face is in very good condition with no rust no oxidation trails or discoloration. .
KNOBS: Original knobs are original black color securely attached. Broadcast numbering is mostly clear and legible with some rib off. The tuning dial works fine. Not slipping no scratching noises.
LOGO: Bottom front edge Westinghouse sticker is in excellent condition with little or no rub off. Front clock clear cover sticker is awesome mid century graphics art that says, "With Exclusive Sono-Riser Wake Up Tone" with little caricature drawing of a rooster is unbeatable!
DIAL LIGHT: No dial light not designed with one but one can be added for an extra charge.
CLOCK Clock works and keeps accurate time. Clock motor is silent no humming no buzzing no ticking noises. Alarm and clock set function works and goes off at the correct set times. No buzzer. Wake to radio only. No sleep timer. Was not able to find a buzzer mechanism internally for the Sono-Riser function so I am assuming radio as being the "Sono-Riser"
INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected.
POWER CORD: The brand new replacement power cord and safety polarized plug are excellent original working condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring.
BACKING BOARD: Original backing board is intake securely attached legible printing.
FACTORY LABELS AND STICKERS: No missing labels.
