Ocean Turquoise 1957 General Electric Model 914-D Tube AM Clock Radio Sounds Great Popular Design!
DESCRIPTION: A vintage tabletop tube AM clock radio alarm manufactured by General Electric in 1957 time frame excellent working and very good physical condition. Very popular late fifties step design in a cool turquoise color that works well with most home decor. One of the most popular mid century designs in one of the most popular colors available. This antique radio by GE is in a really gorgeous turquoise original factory molded color. No repaints. No over spray. None needed. Factory glossy and shiny. Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial without need of external antenna attachment. Cabinet is in very good condition with no chips or major scratches. There a two hairline cracks on top from snooze button the back edge. This antique radio features a "SNOOZE" button on top. This radio is over 60 years old! No missing labels on bottom. The knobs are in excellent condition. The black dial face is clear with no hazing. No cracks! The tuning bezel is clear and transparent not yellowing. Original knobs show light wear of over fifty years. The tuning dial works fine and smooth no slipping. All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The clock works and keep accurate time for a mechanical analog design. The clock set screw is not missing its knurled knob. The alarm works. The clock and alarm set function work. The tubes are working fine. The dial light works and lights brightly, though it does take a few moments to light up which is normal. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations unless you operate near modern megahertz devices. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. The original turquoise matching color power cord is in excellent working condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment. This thing belongs in a museum!
