Brown Swirly Marbled Bakelite 1942 Airline Model 14WG-158 AM Vacuum Tube Radio Totally Restored!
DESCRIPTION: AM tabletop tube clock radio manufactured by Airline and sold through Montgomery Wards stores and catalogs in the 1942 time frame still in excellent+ working and physical condition. This radio has a very golden age of radio look. No cracks, splits, abrasions, or missing material anywhere on the cabinet! No exterior repairs or repaints of any kind. All knobs, dial pointer, etc are present, working, not missing. Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial without external antenna wire. Excellent art deco design! Original brown marble swirly bakelite cabinet is flawless glossy condition. The volume and tuning knobs are original matching Bakelite securely attached. Volume knob has a side crack but still securely attached. This radio is over 70 years old! All the dial numbering and lettering is crisp and clear. Look at the neat Art Deco-ish type font! No missing numbering, dots or dashes, or anything. No smudges or yellowing. The back panel is a original in good condition. The tuning and volume dials work fine. The dial light lights up brightly. The unit powers on and off with a definite click. All out of spec capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! Backing board is till there but the corner attachment pin holes are a little worn. Tube layout diagram all other manufacturer printing is clear and legible. No missing bottom factory labels or stickers. The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. The replacement power cord and plug is in good working condition with no cracks, or splits or electrical tape repair. No exposed wiring. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment.
