DESCRIPTION: Wood tabletop tube AM radio alarm manufactured by Philco in 1940 timeframe in excellent+ working condition. No cracks, seams, missing wood veneer. Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial without need of external antenna attachment. This radio was cared for and maintained throughout its life. This radio is in excellent condition with no major dents or divots on the wood cabinet. There are light scratches throughout and wear and tear along the edges but nothing major. No modifications, repaints, or repairs to cabinet. None needed. This radio is over 75 years old! Not missing labels on front speaker grill. No missing or separating veneer. The original knobs are in excellent condition. The tuning dial works fine and smooth no slipping. The dial light is new and lights up brightly. The clear tuning dial cover is original and nicely yellowed with age. No cracks or major scratches. The original grill cloth has a small wear section approx 1/4" diameter. All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations unless you operate near modern megahertz devices. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. Backing board is missing. The power cord and plug are good original working condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment no pets. This thing belongs in a museum!
