DESCRIPTION: Tabletop tube AM radio manufactured by Motorola in 1953 in excellent+ working condition. The is the affectionately named 'dashboard' model. A collectors favorite. Red is most sought after. All original factory painted red Bakeilte. No modifications, repairs, or repaints. Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial without need of external antenna attachment. Cabinet is in very good condition. There is a chip on the front right side edge. No other cracks, chips, dents, or dings on the cabinet. This radio is over 50 years old! White metal mesh grill is in excellent condition with no dents, dings, rust, or warping. Motorola label on front speaker grill is in excellent condition. The knobs are in excellent condition. The gold metal inserts are original and good condition slightly tarnished. Please see the photo close-up. No missing ink, smudges, or rub-off on tuning dial lettering. The tuning dial works fine and smooth no slipping. Surprisingly, this model was not design with a tuning dial light. Seems like it should have. All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations unless you operate near modern megahertz devices. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. Backing board is in good condition with crisp square corners. The power cord and plug are good original working condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring. The power cord base is reinforced with some electrical tape to prolong life against cable fatigue. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment no pets. When this radio was new, tailfins were all the rage! This thing belongs in a museum!
