DESCRIPTION: These urea plastic clock radios from Motorola in the late fifties are sought after for their unique Jetsons type styling. This particular model is very recognizable but is more commonly found in pink. Turquoise is harder to find. There was a heat crack in the back top which has been repaired. You will not be able to tell is was ever repaired. The clock is quiet. No clock motor humming, buzzing, or cranking sound. Tabletop Tube AM clock radio alarm manufactured by Motorola in 1957 excellent+ working condition. Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial without need of external antenna attachment. Cabinet is in very good condition no cracks, chips, or missing material. This radio is over 50 years old! No missing Motorola label on front speaker grill. The knobs are in excellent condition. All the little clock knobs are still present. The clock bezel is clear and transparent not yellowing. The clock clear bezel was cracked. It has been replaced and repaired with acrylic front. You can see along the edges if you look hard enough that the front has been replaced. No missing ink, smudges, or rub-off on clock dial lettering. The metal tuning fascia plate is a little tarnished. The tuning dial works fine and smooth no slipping. This radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The clock works and keep accurate time. The alarm works. The buzzer works. The clock and alarm set function work. The cable is strong and sturdy and thicker than most. Cord is in excellent condition with no splits, cracks, or exposed wiring. There is a appliance timer function in back. I'll bet it works if the alarm function works, but I cannot think of a good reason to use it nowadays. Pretty superfluous function even back in the fifties. The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations unless you operate near modern megahertz devices. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. Backing board is in good condition with crisp square corners. The power cord and plug are good original working condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment no pets. When this radio was new, tailfins were all the rage!
